Livelihood through Skill development

CMSSS has trained more than 500 school dropouts in the trades of Garment-making, Beautician and driving and 4-wheeler mechanisms from the past 12 years.

The focus group for skill training are school dropouts from the backward and disadvantaged communities who can be supported for employment or self-employment through these skills.

Certification on successful completion of these courses  in collaboration other training institutes help the trainees in next level of training or to avail loan facilities from the banks. In addition to this the youth are trained on personality development and social issues for an integrated development and to make them competent.

Livelihood through Income Generation programs

Supporting families towards livelihood involves another important area. People are hesitant to move from a steady income fetching activity to experiment with other ideas. Sustainable livelihood has been an integral part of all the programs of CMSSS, may it be SHGs, Family development of skill training.

We plan and motivate women and families to have a small income generating activity which does not affect their daily work such as cow rearing, goat rearing, having a tailoring machine or a petty shop.

Through Jeevan Jyothi Federation, loan facility is provided for starting IGPs and trainings such as

  • Vermi-compost making
  • Nursery techniques
  • Handicrafts and many more are conducted for creating more and more livelihood opportunities.
Livelihood through Group Income Generation

Group Income Generation Program involve the following methodology:

  1. We identify the aptitude for a particular IGP from among the women and youth we work considering their economic, social, climatic and structural environment.
  2. We group them into the trades and connect them with local institutes where scientific and modern techniques are taught for better income generation
  3. Motivation through field visits and inputs from successful  people are shared for motivation.
  4. Partial financial support is provided from SHGs and other sources to begin these trades at SHG or village level.
  5. Marketing techniques are introduced and hand holding is provided for the sale of products through the Jeevan Jyothi Federation.
